The Haven of Rest

Rhein River Baptist Church is a mission church, pastored by a missionary, but it also has a huge heart for missions and missionaries. The church has an excellent mission's program and has had a ministry of encouragement to missionaries since 1996 when the church began hosting the Missionary Christmas Retreat the first weekend of December. Over 250 independent, Baptist missionaries, with their families, come each year for spiritual rest and rejuvenation. The church also hosts missionaries all year round. Some come to present their work and some come just to be encouraged. In 2005 the Lord burdened Pastor Lancaster's heart to build two apartments in the church that would be available to missionaries, free of charge, where they could come for rest. These apartments are called the Haven of Rest.

The smaller apartment is called the 'Elisha Suite'. It has a sitting area, efficiency kitchen area, one bedroom and bathroom with shower. The large apartment is called the 'Joshua Suite'. It has a master bedroom, a bunk room that will sleep up to eight, a large, full kitchen, large living room and bathroom with tub and shower.
